Ymir Cup returns to Seoul in November

Wemade will hold the Ymir Cup World Championship Season 3 on November 28 and 29 at Jamsil DN Colosseum in Seoul. The Legend of Ymir tournament expands its program with a new 3v3 competition while retaining the large-scale server battles that formed the core of its first two seasons.

The two-day event will include the World Championship main stage, a Legend Match, the new Colosseum Tournament 3v3 and a separate Colosseum Tournament Legend Match. Matches will be broadcast through Wemade Global's official YouTube channel and other major streaming platforms.

Season 3 is built around two different competitive formats. The World Championship measures the strength and organization of entire servers, while the Colosseum bracket creates a smaller contest in which three-player teams compete under standardized conditions.

Regional competition starts on October 23

Online regional tournaments will run from October 23 through November 1. These matches determine which servers advance to the World Championship stage in Seoul.

The qualification period gives regional communities just over a week of competition before the finalists begin preparing for the live event. Wemade has not announced a complete public list of qualified servers yet, so the final field will only become clear after the online phase is complete.

The main World Championship is based on Legend of Ymir's server-versus-server combat. Two servers must defend their own base while advancing through the opponent's defenses in a fixed sequence. Teams attack the enemy gate, face the intermediate boss Guardian Sigrun and then attempt to destroy the final Nexus.

This structure rewards more than direct combat power. A successful server needs to divide players between defense and attack, coordinate progress through several objectives and react when the opposing side changes its priorities. The format turns the MMORPG's persistent communities into tournament teams rather than reducing the competition to a conventional five-player match.

World champion will face a Korean representative team

The server that wins the World Championship will move on to the Legend Match against a Korean national selection. Wemade is accepting applications for that Korean team through November 4.

The publisher plans to select 250 players according to combat-power rankings and announce the result on November 6. The large roster reflects the scale of the server battle and creates a showcase between the strongest global server and a specially assembled Korean side.

The Legend Match is separate from the championship itself. Winning the main bracket decides the World Championship title, while the additional match gives the champion another high-profile opponent during the weekend program.

New 3v3 tournament removes progression differences

The Colosseum Tournament 3v3 is the main addition for Season 3. Regional representatives will compete in equalized conditions, which means accumulated progression should not determine the result.

That rule changes the kind of skill being tested. Server battles depend on a large group's preparation, character development and coordination across several objectives. The 3v3 format places more emphasis on individual execution, composition choices, communication and short-round decisions.

A separate Colosseum Tournament Legend Match is also scheduled. Wemade has not yet released the full bracket, participating teams or match order, so those details should be confirmed closer to the event rather than inferred from previous seasons.

Adding a small-team competition gives viewers a clearer way to compare regional representatives while preserving the distinctive large-scale format of the World Championship. It also allows the tournament to present two sides of Legend of Ymir's competitive design in the same weekend.

Season 3 follows two championships earlier in 2026

The first Ymir Cup World Championship took place in Singapore from February 28 to March 1. ASIA1, a server led mainly by Thai players, won the inaugural global title. Wemade reported more than 15,000 viewers across the official livestream platforms.

A second championship followed in June, establishing the event as a recurring circuit rather than a single launch tournament. Season 3 now moves the finals to Seoul and introduces the 3v3 Colosseum bracket.

The sequence shows how Wemade is testing different ways to adapt MMORPG systems for structured competition. Large-scale server battles preserve the social organization and long-term development associated with the genre. Equalized 3v3 matches provide a more compact format that can be easier to follow in a broadcast.

What remains to be announced

The confirmed information covers the dates, venue, qualification window and four main parts of the program. The complete participant list, detailed bracket, daily match schedule and prize structure have not yet been published.

Those missing details will be important for evaluating the competitive balance of the event. The regional online tournaments should provide the first clear indication of which servers arrive as favorites, while the November 6 selection announcement will establish the Korean Legend Match lineup.

For now, the key change is the addition of a standardized 3v3 tournament alongside the established server championship. The combination gives Ymir Cup Season 3 a broader competitive identity when the event begins in Seoul on November 28.
