PMGO Season 2 Finals: 16 Teams Chase $500,000 in Lahore
Sixteen teams will contest the PUBG Mobile Global Open 2026 Season 2 Grand Finals in Lahore on October 24 and 25, with $500,000, 150 PMGC points and a place at the Global Championship at stake.
Lahore hosts the final 16
The PUBG Mobile Global Open 2026 Season 2 has reduced its field from 32 teams to 16 for the Grand Finals on October 24 and 25. The event in Lahore is Pakistan's first official global PUBG Mobile esports tournament.
Twelve teams advanced directly from the two groups, while four survived the additional elimination stage. The remaining finalists will compete for shares of the $500,000 tournament prize pool, 150 PMGC points and a guaranteed place at the PUBG Mobile Global Championship 2026 in Istanbul.
The final arrives after three days of qualification in Lahore. Every group played six matches across Rondo, Erangel and Miramar before the teams ranked seventh through 14th moved into the Survival Stage for one last route to the weekend.
S2G and Wolves led the group stage
S2G Esports topped Group A with 60 points despite not winning a map. Its consistent placement and elimination totals kept the team one point ahead of Bigetron by Vitality, which finished on 59.
Horaa Esports qualified in third place with 53 points, followed by Influence Rage on 52, OLD NOT on 47 and AK Gold Esports on 42. These six teams secured direct passage without needing to play the Survival Stage.
Group B produced an even higher top score. Wolves Esports finished first with 64 points, only one ahead of Vampire Esports. ULF Esports reached 56 points and recorded a 20-elimination Chicken Dinner in the opening match, while The MongolZ scored 54, Regnum Carya Esports 53 and BUF Esports 48.
S2G enters the final with the strongest recent championship record. The Turkish organization won the PUBG Mobile World Cup in August before taking first place in its PMGO group. Wolves and Vampire scored more group-stage points, however, so the results do not establish a single clear favorite.
Four teams escaped the Survival Stage
The Survival Stage brought together 16 teams that had finished seventh through 14th in their original groups. Only four could continue.
4K Esports won the stage with 65 points, recovering after taking the first Chicken Dinner of the main event but missing direct qualification. Alter Ego Ares advanced with a five-point margin, while Alpha7 and Al Ula claimed the remaining places.
The complete final lineup is S2G Esports, Bigetron by Vitality, Horaa Esports, Influence Rage, OLD NOT, AK Gold Esports, Wolves Esports, Vampire Esports, ULF Esports, The MongolZ, Regnum Carya Esports, BUF Esports, 4K Esports, Alter Ego Ares, Alpha7 and Al Ula.
Pakistan will not have a home team in the Grand Finals. 4Thrives was eliminated in the Group Stage, while 777 Esports and LF Esports fell short in Survival. The host country still becomes part of the global circuit through the first international PUBG Mobile event of this level held in Lahore.
The SMASH rule can end the final early
Day 1 of the Grand Finals uses a six-match schedule. On Day 2, the tournament activates the SMASH rule, under which an eligible team must win a match after reaching the required points threshold to claim the championship.
The structure rewards both consistency and the ability to close a decisive game. A team cannot rely only on accumulating points once it becomes eligible, because it still needs a Winner Winner Chicken Dinner to secure the title.
If no team completes the SMASH condition by the end of Match 12, an additional Match 13 will be played. The organizers introduced this possible decider to increase the chance that the champion is determined through a match victory rather than the standings alone.
The maps for the potential decider are influenced by a special event on Day 2. A themed showmatch on Midnight Hunters Erangel takes place before Match 7, and its winner can ban one of three available map options for Match 13. If the extra game is needed, the team leading the standings chooses between the two remaining maps.
A new showmatch has competitive consequences
The showmatch is not only entertainment. Its map ban can shape the environment of the deciding game, giving the winner a limited but meaningful influence over the final.
The standings leader then receives the last choice, which preserves an advantage for the team that performed best across the main matches. Together, the two decisions create a sequence in which the showmatch winner removes one option and the points leader selects the final battlefield.
This format is new for PMGO Season 2. The earlier Group and Survival stages also introduced a best-of-three 4v4 Team Deathmatch tiebreaker for qualification positions, although the results in Lahore did not require every new rule to be used.
The winner moves toward Istanbul
The champion receives 150 PMGC points and a guaranteed place at the PUBG Mobile Global Championship later in 2026. Istanbul will host that season-ending event in November and December.
PMGC points are also distributed according to final placement, making the Lahore standings important even for teams that do not win the title. The weekend therefore combines an immediate $500,000 prize pool with consequences for the final world championship of the year.
PMGO's open qualification route remains part of its identity. Season 1 recorded 1.2 million registrations from more than 200 countries and received a Guinness World Record for the largest mobile team-based esports tournament. Season 2 brings the final stage to a new host country and tests format changes intended to produce a decisive conclusion.
The Grand Finals begin on October 24. Official broadcasts are available through PUBG Mobile Esports channels on YouTube, Facebook, X and TikTok, with regional-language coverage provided on selected channels.
