Eight teams meet in Manila

The Flyff Universe World Championship 2026 Grand Final will take place on October 24 at SM MOA Music Hall in Pasay City, Metro Manila. Eight teams that advanced through global qualifiers will compete for the largest prize pool in the tournament's four-year history.

The finalists represent seven countries, including the Philippines, the United States, France and Chile. Defending champion Astral is among the qualified teams and will attempt to retain the title against a field developed through several months of play on the dedicated FWC server.

The venue program begins at 12:00 Philippine time. The official livestream starts at 14:00 PHT, or 06:00 UTC, through the Flyff Universe channels on YouTube, Twitch and Facebook.

A $110,000 prize pool is concentrated at the top

The champion will receive $80,000, while the runner-up earns $20,000 and third place receives $10,000. The three teams also receive exclusive in-game titles, mounts and costumes connected to their final placement.

The total $110,000 pool is a record for FWC. It gives the champion nearly 73 percent of the cash prizes, making the upper-bracket route and every advantage in the final especially important. Prize payments are subject to taxes and other applicable expenses under the official rules.

All eight finalists receive a special tournament title and commemorative in-game items. Wemade Connect is also covering operational elements such as travel and accommodation for eligible finalists under the participation rules.

Double elimination with no bracket reset

FWC 2026 uses an eight-team double-elimination format. The early matches are best-of-one, which leaves little room for a slow start. The winners final and losers final change to best-of-three series, while the grand final is listed as a best-of-five.

There is no bracket reset. Instead, the winners-final champion starts the grand final with a 1-0 map advantage and needs two additional victories to take the title. The team arriving from the losers bracket must win three games.

This system rewards an unbeaten run without requiring a second full final. It also creates a clear competitive difference between the two routes: the lower-bracket team can still become champion, but it enters the deciding series with no margin for error.

Matches are designed to move quickly. The official schedule allows three minutes for PC setup, one minute to enter the match and one minute for final preparation. Each game is expected to last approximately five to seven minutes, although organizers may adjust the timing for on-site conditions.

Top seeds can choose their first opponent

The 2026 final introduces an Opponent Selection system. The highest-ranked team from each time-zone qualifier can select its opponent for the opening match.

The choice adds a strategic decision before play begins. A top seed can target a team it considers favorable, avoid an unfamiliar matchup or try to influence the other side of the bracket. The selected opponent also receives an immediate motivational angle, because it has been publicly identified as the preferred first-round rival.

After the opening selections, the tournament follows the published double-elimination bracket. The mechanic affects the first round but does not replace the competitive results earned in Manila.

Players started from the same dedicated server

FWC differs from many esports circuits because its season begins with character development. A dedicated server opened on April 23 with accelerated experience, item drops and enhancement rates. Players began the tournament cycle under the same server conditions, then spent several months preparing characters for PvE rankings and PvP qualification.

The structure makes the season more than a single weekend. Team preparation includes progression, resource decisions, class composition and long-term cooperation before the final bracket begins. The Manila event is the conclusion of that shared season rather than a standalone invitational.

Wemade Connect says the model has also increased activity around the game. According to company-reported data, revenue in the 30 days after the FWC 2026 server opened was nearly four times higher than in the previous 30 days. New registrations increased by 166 percent, daily active users by about 62 percent and average concurrent users by about 81 percent.

These are publisher figures and have not been independently audited, but they explain why FWC is treated as live-service content as well as a competitive tournament. The event gives returning players a reason to begin again under equal seasonal rules and gives new players a defined point of entry.

The final is also designed as a community event

The Manila program includes a performance by Filipino group KAIA, cosplay segments, creator appearances and fan activities. Visitors can access photo areas, signing sessions, official merchandise and in-game rewards, while on-site raffles include gaming hardware and other prizes.

The broadcast will cover the matches, selected stage programs and the award ceremony. That approach reflects the tournament's community focus: the final is intended to connect players who developed characters and competed together online with an audience at the venue.

The central sporting questions remain clear. Astral is defending the championship, the top seeds receive control over their opening matchup and one of eight international teams will leave Manila with the $80,000 first prize. Competition begins on October 24.
